Hours Later
Laura and Tamia are busy working as they snack on the Lunch that Elton ordered for them. Tamia is giving Laura tips on ways to run a successful business. Tamia sits there and smiles as Laura does everything she wanted her to do. Laura would either be happily working with Carly or handing the company over to Carly, someone who was more in touch with today's woman than Laura in no time.
This was going to be much easier than she thought, Tidwell would be so proud of her. Now all she had to was get on Sonny's good side without Carly figuring out what she was up to. Never again would Joseph Sorel try to invade her territory.
Out in the Lobby
Carly steps off the elevator "Hey Elton, is Laura here??"
"Where else would she be, but at work??" he said under his breath. "Yes, she's in a meeting with a friend of yours." he told her nonchalantly
"A friend of mine??" Carly asked confused
"Tamia Tidwell" he told her like she was crazy, it wasn't like she had many friends.
Carly went flying into Laura's office, there was no way her best friend was here. She hadn't heard from her in almost 6 years, and those have been the worst 6 years of her life.
"Tam" she said when she saw her childhood friend sitting on the couch chatting with Laura and laughing
"Blondie" Tamia said when she saw her. It was like they hadn't been apart for more than a week. Carly looked just the same to her and thanks to her guards she knew she hadn't changed much either.
At the same time they threw themselves at each other professing that they had missed each other and loved each other when they finally pulled apart Tamia looked at Carly and told her with a very thick country drawl "Good Lord child, I have missed you somethin awful"
They both broke into a fit of giggles, Laura couldn't help but smile. It was so obvious that these two were more than friends, and that they were both happy to be together again. "Girl I haven't heard that in ages" Carly told her sounding quite country herself.
Laura quickly excused herself from the room saying she had some phone calls to make and that she would be in Carly's office if anyone needed her.
As soon as Laura left the girls sat on the couch and began talking and catching up. Both avoiding the subject of thier husband's jobs, they didn't want to lie to the other so they just figured it best if not brought up.
"You've got to stop by and meet my son" Carly exclaimed. "You'll absolutlely adore him"
Tamia quickly saw her chance to meet the infamous Sonny Corinthos and grabbed at the opportunity "I'd love to, if he's anything like you I bet he's a handful."
Carly notices a look of sadness cross her friend's face "Tam what's wrong??"
"Huh?? Oh nothing" she tells her friend "Well I'll let you go so you and Laura can get to work" Tamia stands up to leave, she really didn't want to tell Carly about the little boy she lost or how her husband was laying in a bed at New Orleans General Hospital in a coma.
Carly couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that her friend was leaving so soon after she got there, but she also knew she was hiding something. She stood up to walk her friend out. "Why don't you come over for dinner tonight??" she asked as they waited for the elevator. "That way you can meet my husband as well"
"Are you cooking??" Tamia teased her friend, grateful she wasn't pushing for the reason behind her mood change.
"No, smarty my husband is" she playfully swatted at her friend.
"Than I'd be glad to join you, what time??" she said smiling at her friend. This was way to easy.
"How about 5??" Carly told her, if she was hiding something Sonny would be able to find out what it was.
"5 it is" Tamia hugged her friend "wait a minute where do you live??"
"Don't worry we'll send a car over, are you staying at the PC hotel??"
"Yeah, penthouse"
"Okay a driver will be there around 4:45 to pick you up and don't worry he'll come and get you." Carly hugged her friend and gave her a kiss on the cheek just as the elevator door opened.
"Alright I'll see you later" Tamia stepped on the elevator and was grateful when the doors finally closed. She could drop the perky act. Tamia let out a huge sigh and pulled her cell phone out of her purse and dialed a phone number and waited for the other person to pickup as strolled out of the building and into the chilly March air of Port Chalres. Her plan was in motion, Joseph Sorel wouldn't know what hit him.
