The groups freshman year was reaching an end. They couldn't believe they were already getting ready to take spring finals it felt like just yesterday they had moved in. Johnny's final for his Intro to Lit class was to write about his first year in college.

Johnny sat at the dining room table and began to think of all the things him and his roommates had done over the past 12 mths.

That was the day he met his roomates. He remembers bieng jealous of Marcus because Cheyanna was sitting on his lap looking quite comfortable. He instantly had a crush on her. Then in came both Mrs Cs. He remembers bieng very nervous and how they demanded that everyone be home for the 4th of July. He had to admit he looked forward to it.

July 4, 2000

Cheyanna and Carly rented an aerovan so we could all drive the 2 hrs to Bensonhurst together. Cheyanna looked beautiful today in her jean shorts and tank top. Her and Lois painted thier nails white with little flags and fireworks on them and thier toenails looked like candy canes.

Today was a blast. Mrs. C and Mrs. C had thrown like a block party. There was music, food and everyone just sat around talking and having fun. The best was when the girls started a ballon fight..it was all on war.

As we were drying off Cheyanna asked me to walk with her to the park. I like spending time with her, she reminds me that even though we are in college its no reason for us to stop enjoying the things we did when we were younger. Like swings and slides.

We ended up spending the night. Cheyanna fell asleep in my arms. We had stayed up way past the others just talking about everything.

August 17, 2000

I've noticed Cheyanna spends a lot of time in Benshonhurst. I wonder if she has a crush on Micheal. She spent all last week up there. Marcus and Lois are starting to spend lots of time together and I spend most of my time with Carly.

Carly makes me laugh. She is so spirited. We spend a lot of time eating at the Diner on the Corner. I still can't believe thats the actual name of the diner.

Micheal is rarely home and no one knows what he is getting himself into. The girls are really starting to worry about him.

November 11,2000

We all went out to our favorite club~~Carbon. It was to relax and celebrate everyones 18th birthday. We had a blast until the girls flirtatious ways caused us to get into a fight. In fact Micheal is in the living room right now yelling at Cheyanna. I feel bad for her but at the same time I know how Micheal feels, if it weren't for them always needing to be the center of our world the fight would have never happened.

November 24, 2000

For Thanksgiving we went back to Bensonhurst. It was nice. Everyone helped cook. It was Mrs Corinthos, Mr & Mrs. Cerillo, Cheyanna, Marcus, Carly, me, Micheal, his girlfriend ~ Sharlene, Lois, her boyfriend ~ Manuel, and some more of Lois's relatives.

After we ate and cleaned up the table, some people went into the kitchen to talk and others went to the living room to watch the game. The guys were shocked when Cheyanna and Sharlene came in, sat down and started watching the game. They were even more shocked when the girls started to comment on the game and were able to use statistics to back up thier opnions.

On the way home Cheyanna and Micheal sat in the back together and ended up up laying on each other and sleeping, Marcus and Sharlene were up front arguing about the game, Lois and I sat in front of Micheal and Cheyanna and talked about the holidays and our psych assignment and Manual and Carly slept in the front of us using Manuel's lap as a pillow. It was nice to see that all of us get along so well, Lois and I wonder how long it will last.

December 1, 2000

Our finals are over and everyone is heading home to spend the holidays with thier families. I am even looking forward to seeing my sisters. Its amazing how you don't know how for granted you take your family until your thousands of miles away.

Micheal and Lois are driving everyone to the airport and then picking everyone up. We've agreed to keep up the Sunday phone call ritual even though we will be home.

January 5, 2001

Cheyanna and Carly went home best friends and came back stepsisters and bitter enemies. It seems thier parents were cheating with each other for years, had divorced and decided to have a New Years Eve wedding in 6 mths. The tension between them radiates through the whole suite. We've been back for 3 days and Cheyanna has spent each night in our room sharing a bed with either Micheal or I.

Carly is rarely ever out of her room, she's in thier doing god knows what. She and Micheal are beggining to have more and more in commen~~neither Lois or I see much of them.

February 14, 2001

Valentines was a bust. Lois and I planned a very nice dinner. Chey and Carly started arguing and then actually started fighting. Lois left crying saying everything was ruined. Marcus and Micheal started yelling at Chey and Carly, thier response was to punch them in the stomach and then run out of the room. Then the guys stormed out and I was left to clean the mess up. I'm not looking forward to the next holiday.

March 18, 2001

We had planned last summer to all go to Jamaica together for Spring Break but since the tension hasn't gotten any better we are taking seperate vacations. Marcus and Chey are going down to New Orleans for some Jazzfest, Lois and I are going to the Bahamas, Carly is going to a spa in Arizona and we have no idea what Michael is doing.

Chey has nicknamed Micheal, Sonny, because of his ''sunny'' dispostion or lack thereof. Marcus calls Cheyanna ''ritza, its her middle name Marizta shortened and the rest of us call her Chey, Chey calls Marcus, Marc, we all call Lois, Lo. The only ones that don't have nicknames are Carly and I and that because we already go by our nicknames.

March 31, 2001

The 2 wks away from each other seemed to do everyone a lot of good. Chey and Carly are best friends again. Lois and I have begun dating(she dumped Manuel over the winter break), we think Marcus and Chey are dating but Carly and Marcus think Micheal and Chey are dating, because they've been spending a lot of time together going to The Met, and the Botanical Garden. Lo and I think he's still dating Sharlene even though we haven't seen her since Thanksgiving. Who knows...I'm just glad things are better in the suite.

Our freshman year will be over as of tomorrow, we've been told to remain roommates we have to move to a new dorm. So our room is full of boxes plus books are everywhere because people have been studying nonstop for the past 2 weeks.

Our first year has definetly been exciting we've had our ups and our downs, our fights and our make~ups. I wonder what excitement and lessons next year will bring. I can't believe we are Sophmore's in college where did our freshman year go??

Hours after he began Johnny finishes his paper. And just as he places the title page on top and staples the paper together his girlfriend wraps her arms around his neck ''The Wonder Year???'' she asks

''Yeah, Its my Lit final.'' He answers

''What's it about??'' she asks

''Its about my freshmen year in college'' He says with a smirk

''I bet its interesting'' she comments

''more than you know'' he says as he pulls her on his lap and kisses Lois like she's never been kissed.
